EMBRACING EVOLVING MODERN TECHNOLOGIES FOR LITERACY AND ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
Abstract
Historically, ICTs ascended from a mere option to choose from, to an indispensable life base. In America for example, a huge number of work are done by the use of devices online, of which young people under the age of 29 are of greater percentage unlike few years back (National Telecommunications and Information Administration, 1999; Pew Internet & American Life Project, 2009b). Online and mobile devices at social gatherings, religious assembly, educational institutions and workplaces are indispensable tools (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2009; Pew Internet & American Life Project, 2009a). This is notwithstanding the overwhelming change in model, brand and features of these devices, which is obviously different from what was obtainable years back. A comparison of the online pace and performance of old Desktop computers with modern ones is a good example, despite the few number of users and services those days.
