Abstract

“The computer is incredibly fast, accurate, and stupid; humans are incredibly slow, inaccurate, and brilliant. Together, they are powerful beyond imagination..."

Albert Einstein

The importance of computer and computing facilities towards the actualization of human and educational goals cannot be overemphasized as posited by Albert Einstein. The computer which is the major resource in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has impacted so much in virtually every facet of human endeavor. Its prevalence and rapid development have transformed human society from Information age to knowledge age (Jeremy, 2000). ICT is naturally becoming part of man's daily life; thus, it is almost a must for every literate person to be ICT compliant. The reason is simple! The definition of literacy which until now was traditionally the ability to use language to read, write, comprehend, and speak has changed.

Ratheeswari (2018) posits that ICT means "Information and communication technology" which alludes to advancements that give access to data through media transmission. It is like Information Technology (IT) however centers basically on communication technologies which include the internet, wireless networks, cell phones, and other communication mediums. This implies that there are more opportunities to use ICT in teacher training programmes in modern times to improve the quality of teachers to teach effectively. According to UNESCO "ICT is a scientific, technological and engineering discipline and management technique used in handling information, its application and association with social, economic and cultural matters". The teacher is the main part of the educational field in our society. He more works for the improvement level of our society in every field. Skilled teachers can make creative students in the form of a good social worker, politician, poet, philosopher, etc. for the society. Educators can play a friendly role with the learner. The rapid development in innovations and technologies has made drastic changes in the way we live, as well as the demands of society. Perceiving the effect of new advancements in technology on the work environment and regular daily existence, the present educator instruction organizations attempt to rebuild their training projects and homeroom offices
