Abstract

This study examines the relationship between workflow system and employees’ performance. Workflow system was conceptualized in four dimensions, namely; strategic alignment, information technology, process improvement and employee involvement. This study was predicated on the resource based view by Penrose (1959). It adopted the literature review model of research. Data was collected through published journals, periodicals, text books and other online sources. The literatures reviewed showed that workflow system has proved that it brings tremendous advantages for the organization, including proper resources allocation and evident operations advancements. It is concluded that, workflow system is a trending objective that all organizations which aim for the adoption of information technology within their operations pursue. This research therefore recommended that during the processes of reengineering, organizations should make frantic effort on their planning coupled with their strategies.
