PEACE AND SECURITY: PANACEA FOR SUSTAINABLE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA

Abstract

Security is a promoter of national development. Sustainable development cannot be achieved without peace and security in any nation. Enforcing peace and adequate security involves a wide range of efforts by different actors in government and civil society at the community, national, international levels to address the primary causes of violence and ensure that people are free from fear of humiliation, war and conflicts. This paper, therefore, highlights peace and security as a panacea for sustainable national development in Nigeria.
