Abstract

Inter-governmental relations is a sine-qua-non political tool for mutual relationship among the different tiers of government. For the realization and facilitation of government goals, government wrangling has been a foremost trait to Nigerian federalism. This is aptly enunciated by the provisions of the 1999 constitution. These terms and synergy are unambiguously and unequivocally spelt out. Undoubtedly, the nature of the interface between these multi-littered government comprise the fortune or misfortune of Nigeria’s nascent democracy. Ezeani (2018) postulates that no matter how carefully the powers and responsibilities of each order of government are specified, it is inevitable that there will be area of over-lap and that the actions of one will affect the other tier causing friction and resulting in conflict
