PRODUCTION PLANNING AND EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY IN RIVERS STATE OIL REFINING INDUSTRY

Abstract

The study examined the impact of production planning on productivity of refining industry in
Rivers state. The study population consists of 80 employees of selected oil refining industry in
Rivers State. Spearman rank correlation coefficient was used for the analysis with the aid of
Statistical Package for social sciences (SPSS) version 21. The results revealed that production
scheduling significantly relate with productivity of refining companies in Rivers State. The study
recommends amongst others that on-time production and delivery of products through proper
scheduling and capacity enhancement is essential for company’s success and competitiveness.
