WORK HUMANIZATION: A NECESSITY FOR INFORMATION MANAGERS’ JOB EFFECTIVENESS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN RIVERS STATE
Abstract
The study examined the relationship between work humanization as a necessity for information
managers’ job effectiveness in tertiary Institutions. The study as a correlational study investigated
the effect of work humanization activities such as job security, equity of workers remuneration,
and job individuation on the information managers’ job effectiveness. The findings suggest that
there is a substantial relationship between work humanization and the information manager’s job
effectiveness in tertiary institutions. The study revealed that humanization of work within an
organization provides information managers with enhanced experiencing of corporate governance,
leadership effectiveness and also helps in the development of sound human capacity in the
organization. Consequently, it was affirmed that work humanization can be considered as a
prerequisite for the achievement of the information managers’ job effectiveness in tertiary
Institutions in Rivers State. In line with this finding it was recommended that
institutions/organizations should emphasize on work relationships which are structured in such
away to allow feelings of trust, membership and belongingness with the institution such that
workers are assured of their placement, growth, and security within such systems.
