WORKPLACE DIGITAL STRATEGIES AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE IN STATE OWNED UNIVERSITIES
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the concept of Workplace Digital Strategies and Managers’ Performance. The study was conceptualized given the dimensions of workplace digital strategies as Metadata Strategies, Office Virtualization Strategies and Digital Resources, while measures of Managers’ performance are Administrative Goal attainment, Effective Service Delivery and Effective Decision Making. The study used descriptive design. The population for this study comprised of 260 administrative staff in two state owned universities which also served as the sample size. A structured questionnaire was distributed to respondents. Mean, Standard deviation and percentages were used to analyze responses from the questionnaire while regression analysis was used to test hypothesis. For the data analysis, SPSS (23.0) was used. The findings of this research revealed that workplace digital strategies have statistically significant influence on managers’ performance. The study thus, concludes that workplace digital strategies is a measure of Managers’ performance. Based on this finding a number of recommendations were made among which is; digital office equipment should be adequately provided in the universities so as to improve the standard and job performance of Office managers.
