CONCEPT OF BEHAVOURIAL SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACH OF COMPARATIVE MANAGEMENT

Abstract

Four approaches to encouraging energy conservation are reviewed: structural, interpersonal influence, social learning and diffusion, and cognitive. Strengths and weaknesses of each approach are noted, and the efficacies of multi-approach change efforts are discussed. Particular emphasis is placed on the distinction between device-oriented and lifestyle-change behaviors.
