CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED BY TEACHERS IN USING MULTIMEDIA INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS IN TEACHING SECONDARY SCHOOL SCIENCE CONCEPT IN TARABA, NIGERIA

The study investigated the problems of using multimedia materials in teaching Secondary school science concepts. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. 3 objectives and 3 research questions guided the study. From the population of 120 teachers a sample size of 115 was used. Instrument used for data collection was a researcher deployed questionnaire of 30 items. Using Spearman brown coefficient formula (rtt) the reliability coefficient of the instrument was found to be 0.73. Data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed among others that multimedia materials for effective delivery are insufficiently available. It was concluded that Science teachers do not utilize multimedia resources for effective instructional delivery in Jalingo metropolis among others. One the recommendations was that teachers should avoid non-challant behaviour when it comes to enhancing multimedia instructional delivery
