Abstract

Global competition and the ever changing or diminishing product life cycles arising from specialized skills and knowledge of firms have become more and more important factors in contemporary organizations and marketplace. In the preceding decade, firms considered expanding their external organizational boundaries for opportunities to collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure efficiency and responsiveness of supply chain, so as to leverage on the resources and knowledge of their suppliers and customers (Cao & Zhang, 2011)
