Abstract

The study investigated the relationship between employee creativity and organizational success of Plastics manufacturing firms in Rivers State, Nigeria. The study adopted correlational research design. The population comprised 230 employees drawn from seven plastics manufacturing firms in Rivers State, and a census sampling technique was employed due to the manageable size of the population. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire titled Employee Creativity and Organizational Success Questionnaire (ECOS). The instrument was validated by experts, and its reliability was established using the test–retest method, which yielded reliability coefficient indices of 0.74 and 0.79 respectively. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test the hypotheses at a 0.05 level of significance with the aid of SPSS version 25. The findings revealed strong and statistically significant positive relationships between idea generation and organizational success, as well as between problem-solving ability and organizational success. The study concluded that employee creativity is a strategic organizational resource that enhances innovation, productivity, and long-term competitiveness. It recommends that manufacturing firms should foster supportive leadership, invest in creativity and problem-solving capacity building, and integrate creativity into performance management systems to achieve sustainable organizational success.
