POST AMNESTY FOR MILITANTS IN THE NIGER DELTA 2015 – 2025

Abstract

The term amnesty and militancy are very common terms within Niger Delta area of Nigeria. This has been so because of the activities of militants and the government’s approach in curbing their activities. Post 2018 that saw Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) of persons into the society has yielded positive fruits by way of economic improvement. The government had introduced various programmes of reintegration for them and this has paid off the economy of the state has improved because there has been no destruction of the pipelines by militants.
