Abstract

This research looked at how the financial success of companies in Nigeria affected the salaries of their top executives. The effect of CEO salary on company success is debated in the available research. The agency and stakeholder theories were crucial to the study's findings. Purposive sampling was used to choose audited yearly financial statements from frequently listed companies on the Nigerian stock exchange market, and the study period extends from 2015 to 2020. The research used a mixture of an econometric approach (the panel least square regression method) and descriptive statistics (the Chi-square test) to analyze the research hypotheses. This study's findings indicate a good correlation between financial success and executive remuneration (directors' emoluments) for the companies in the sample.
