This study examined the teaching pedagogical improvement needs of the Polytechnic Lecturers in Northern Nigeria. Three research questions were raised to guide the study. A cross-sectional descriptive design study was adopted where 171 lecturers were proportionately and randomly sampled from polytechnics in Northern Nigeria. The lecturers responded to a 41-item questionnaire which has a crookback alpha coefficient of 0.85 Weighted mean and improvement needed index (INI) were used to answer the research questions. The results analysis showed that the polytechnic lecturers need improvement in pedagogical skills of planning instruction, presentation of lessons and assessment of student’s learning. It was recommended that workshops and seminars on pedagogical skills be organized to equip the lecturers with these skills and pre-service pedagogical skills should be organized for newly employed lecturers amongst other recommendation.
